Headache

Headaches can be a debilitating condition with many causes, ranging from things as simple as dehydration to complex problems like defective blood vessels or tumors. Many common headache problems are "Cervicogenic" and related to Spinal or Myofascial Dysfunction in the neck or upper back and can be corrected or greatly helped by Chiropractic care.  Often, dysfunctional musculoskeletal tissue will cause irritation of the occipital nerve at the base of the skull near the suboccipital triangle or in the upper trapezius muscle by the shoulder.  Improving spinal joint mobility with Chiropractic Manipulation and reducing muscle tension with myofascial treatments such as Active Release Technique or IASTM can be a great conservative treatment option for patients with headaches.  Most patients benefit from ergonomic instruction and home exercises / stretches to help prevent their headaches from returning.  At Creekside, we have a great track record of results treating patients suffering from headaches.

Even some types of complex headaches, like migraines often can be improved by 90% through Chiropractic*. Doctors of Chiropractic are trained in general diagnosis and will refer you to the appropriate specialist in the cases when a headache is not helped by safe and natural conservative care.
