Golf Performance Training

Our Philosophy:

We believe that golfers will benefit the most from a healthy and efficient body. There are infinite ways to swing a golf club, but the most efficient way for each player is based on their physical capabilities.

Sheboygan Golf Performance Training

Our Goal:

Our goal is to improve mobility, stability, strength, and power.  We want to increase a golfer's resiliency and decrease injury risk. We strive to improve a golfer's body-swing connection and therefore enhance their golf game. We understand what parts of the body are needing adequate movement, while others require stability for proper performance.

We take a collaborative approach, working together with our team and partnering with PGA golf instructors and other professionals to help get you where you want to be.

Improving the "Golf Gap"

Many of us golfers get excited for the Golf Digest's Hotlist, which comes out every year. We fantasize about how the latest club or ball technology will take our golf game to the next level. We spend hundreds, maybe thousands of dollars on the latest and greatest clubs, balls, shoes, and other gear needed to play golf. Do we actually improve? Statistically, no.

So what is the problem? While we spend thousands on new equipment, we neglect the one thing that is present on every swing, OUR BODIES. If we are unable to swing that $1500 iron set in the most efficient way possible, it really doesn't help us lower our scores. This is what we call the golf gap. It is constantly looking for external variables to help us improve our game, while neglecting the thing that is actually the most important.

This is where Creekside Golf Performance comes in. We fill that gap with the tools you need to maximize your body and golf swing. We don't want you to swing like Keopka, Furyk, or Johnson, we want you to swing and play like the best version of yourself.

How it Works

By utilizing video analysis, golf movement-specific screens, we can determine where a player is lacking physically. We can then utilize golf-specific training exercises, manual therapy, massage, and mobility training to improve a player's strength, power, agility, and consistency. Improvements in these areas create a more efficient golfer and golf swing that translates from the gym to the driving range to the course.  During the same time, we partner with your local PGA golf pro if you have one, otherwise we are able to provide you with an expert to help with the more technical aspects of your game to fine tune your swing, short game, and help with course management.

Our Game Plan

Our facility focuses on progressively improving your body's performance in relation to golf.  We focus on four main areas required for a great golf swing: Mobility, Stability, Strength, and Power.

Improving Mobility:  We use a combination of manual therapy, chiropractic, massage, and at-home exercises and stretching to improve tissue pliability and quality of movement.  This is where we find amateur golfers struggle the most.

Creating Stability:  We generate power using ground reactive forces.  We need stability throughout the kinetic chain to transfer that energy.  Any joint unable maintain stability leaks efficiency out of the system (in this case, the golf swing).  Key areas of focus include feet, core, spine, and shoulders.

Improving Strength:  Strength is essential for maximizing your swing.  If you are stronger, it requires less effort to produce a great swing, allowing for more consistency in your shots and decreasing injury risk.  Focus emphasized on glutes and hip rotator muscles.

Generating Power:  Power requires precision, proper muscle firing sequences, good mobility,  and adequate stability.  We focus on power last, because it is built on the foundations of mobility, stability, and strength.  We use kinetic chains throughout the body to create powerful movement patterns that can be repeated on the golf course.

Golf Performance Services:

TPI Golf Screening and Analysis:

This is where everything starts.  To achieve an efficient swing, a golfer must first be screened.  This screen involves a video assessment of swing mechanics and biomechanics, movement quality, current health, and client history including medical conditions and previous injuries. Screening results are used to determine if your problems are physical, technical, or both.  From this, we can create a unique plan for each golfer. $135

IASTM Soft Tissue Treatment:

IASTM is a soft tissue therapy that is used primarily to break up adhesions and scar tissue that has formed under the skin and in the muscle tissue after an injury.  Some of the advantages of IASTM are: decreased time of treatment, faster recovery, reduced need for anti-inflammatory medicine, reduction of chronic conditions that were thought to be permanent.  Dr. Tislau has received advanced training in Graston technique (a form of IASTM) to learn how and when to use IASTM effectively, with the goal of returning you to 100% as quickly as possible.  $52

Active Release Technique (A.R.T)

ART is a soft tissue therapy that works to reduce adhesions and restrictions found in muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joints. These restrictions can limit range of motion, cause pain, and decrease performance in a golf swing. Dr. Tislau at Creekside Performance Center is Sheboygan's only certified provider of A.R.T. $52

Chiropractic Treatment

By improving joint centration and segmental motion, we can improve global ROM of structures that may be limiting your golf swing.  Oftentimes we will combine chiropractic treatment with soft tissue treatment (ART, IASTM) for enhanced results.  $42

Nutritional Counseling:

Nutrition is an often overlooked aspect of performance, especially in golf. That Budweiser, double cheeseburger, and bag of chips at the turn may not be improving your game-or your health.  Work with one of our doctors to come up with a realistic and actionable plan to improve your nutrition. $100
